The International German School Sarajevo (IDSS) is a licensed private educational institution with preschool and primary education programs (grades I to IX), which are based on the German curriculum and modern educational methodologies. Classes are held in German, but also in English and B/C/S languages, and during schooling, students acquire knowledge from different areas, from different subjects: Linguistic literary-artistic field; Mathematical-scientific-technical field, field of Social Sciences and Sports. Students who complete our school can continue their education in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Germany and around the world. Our curriculum is harmonized with the official plan and program which is in use in Sarajevo Canton.
HOW TO APPLY?
Below is a comprehensive overview of the admissions application process for IDSS.
1.
Submit Application
Registrations are accepted throughout the year. Complete the Application Form along with the relevant documentation including student statements, student’s past school reports and references, parent questionnaire and copies of identification documentation.

Application Review
Once the completed application has been received, the application will be reviewed by our Admissions committee. Allow up to 2 weeks for application processing.
You will then be notified if your application has been successful and an interview with the Admissions team will be arranged.
3.
Interview and Assessment
All prospective students are required to attend an admissions interview with the Admissions team, if required, testing may take place during this time. Applicants may also be invited to attend a trial day.
Students entering IDSS for the first time will be required to complete an assessment on their German language competency level to ensure that the correct level of German language support is put into place, through the individual student DaF Plan.
4.
Final Decision
Individual determinations are made by the school’s admissions committee and the final decision is made by the Head of School. This process can take up to five working days.
You will be notified by the Head of School and offered a place at the school should all conditions for admissions be met.
Please note that the Admissions Committee reserves the right to refuse the application of a learner in certain cases, defined in our Admissions Policy.

Upon enrollment you will receive all necessary instructions and details to help your child prepare for their first day.
